"OLD SCHOOL EUROPEAN ELEGANCE" WITH "AN UNMISTAKABLY TRADITIONAL SOUND"
- THE STRAD, GRAMOPHONE
The Society of Musical Friends is a US-based chamber ensemble devoted to the performance of the greatest works of the chamber repertoire in intimate surroundings and at the highest artistic level.
Led by violinist Keith Bond, the Society brings together accomplished professional musicians - from violin and piano to string trio, piano trio, string quartet and larger chamber ensembles - according to the repertoire and occasion.
Drawing inspiration from the historic tradition of musical societies and private chamber concerts, the Society of Musical Friends offers audiences the opportunity to hear great works as they were originally meant to be experienced: closely, directly, and among friends.
“Old-school European elegance,” “unmistakably traditional sound, expressive clarity and warmth that harkens back to the golden age of quartet playing,” and “interpretive depth reminiscent of the Amadeus Quartet” (GRAMOPHONE, THE STRAD, BACHTRACK).

“Their recent debut at Carnegie Hall was a fine reflection of their five-year journey from regional emergence to national recognition.” GRAMOPHONE

"A brilliant young String Quartet..[a] luminous performance." - THE SPECTATOR

“The quartet’s presence in the heart of the action makes this dance a rich, all-encompassing, and simply gorgeous sensory experience.” OKLAHOMA CITY FREE PRESS

"This was a relentless, memorable performance, and easily this reviewer's favorite piece of the evening." - BROADWAY WORLD
